Last week I had a chance to screen the film “42”. The movie covers the true story of  the legendary Jackie Robinson. Robinson was the first African-American man to play in Major League Baseball. The film also showcases the relationship between Jackie Robinson (played by Chadwick Boseman) and the General Manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers Branch Rickey (played by Harrison Ford).

This is a great starting point for those who are not only unfamiliar with Jackie Robinson but also this era of time. The story takes place in 1947 when segregation and racism was the American norm. This is a marvelous sports film and a must see especially for those of color. Be sure to support the film which comes out today! Take a peak at the trailer below also.
